Transform America Campaign launched
General Superintendent George O. Wood announces the launching of the Transform America Campaign. The campaign plan is to raise $15 million to help plant 500 churches over the next three years — with the initial investment being perpetually reinvested in new church plants.
2010 European Missions Experience
Selected from many applicants, 31 students from nine AG schools dedicated eight weeks of their summer to the 2010 European Missions Experience. Students traveled to one of eight locations and were matched with nationally appointed AG missionaries to participate in diverse forms of ministry.

One Month: Are you up to the challenge?
When Nathan De La Garza, 16, participated in his youth group's One Month Challenge to carry his Bible with him everywhere, he was given an unexpected trip to the principal's office — but soon he gained attention from the press and his classmates, which gave him an opportunity to share his faith. As part of Detroit 2010, Student Outreach Director Steve Pulis issued the One Month Challenge to students nationwide.
Deadline approaching for AG Next Generation grant
September 15 is the deadline for filing an application for an AG Next Generation grant. Last year, 23 grants were awarded to graduates of AG schools to assist with their school debts.
National Prayer Center offers new resources
The Assemblies of God National Prayer Center has created new "back-to-school" prayer guides and has posted a first in a series of Concert of Prayer emphases designed for a Sunday evening or Wednesday night service focused on prayer. These resources are available to download for free.
Detroit 2010 wraps with Fine Arts Celebration

Flooding in Pakistan affects AG members
As a result of flooding in Pakistan, beginning in late July, more than 1,600 people have died and 3.5 million have been left homeless. Floodwaters damaged 40 families' homes from a Pakistan AG church in Islamabad. The Pakistan AG requests prayer for relief.

According to a new study, parents who don't allow their children to watch R-rated movies are keeping them from drinking and smoking. Dartmouth pediatrician James D. Sargent says children who watch these movies are more prone to "sensation seeking" and risk taking.
